Information for High School students interested in helping out with Spring Hoops

Given some program changes to Wellesley Spring Hoops (Townball), we are looking for motivated and enthusiastic high school students to help us staff two clinics and/or the culminating 3-on-3 tournament.

For the clinics, we are looking for HS students who can assist some of the Wellesley High School coaching staff and other professional coaches to run the kids through various drills.  The clinics will take place on Saturday, March 16 and Saturday, March 23 at WMS and Sprague. During the 3-on-3 tournament, we are interested in having HS students help organize and referee on Sunday, March 24 at Dana Hall.

You can register for one or more of the days by clicking on the “register Online” tab on the left side of the homepage. You will need a parent to register for you if you are under 18 years old.  There will be a mandatory one-hour training session on March 13 from 4:00-5:00 at the Wellesley Community Center.

Brief Description of the improved Spring Hoops program:
Wellesley Spring Hoops is a 3-session basketball experience for Wellesley girls and boys in Grades 3-8.   The clinics will be based on the traditional basketball 'camp' model, which focuses on teaching fundamentals through lots of hands-on drills, instruction and advanced guidance with help from high school coaches and players. We will be co-hosting the 3-on-3 tournament on March 24 with LX Sports Camps and their special guest, former Celtic Brian Scalabrine. Should there be high demand for this opportunity, we may limit number of volunteers, so please sign up early!

Details:

March 16 and/or March 23:  opportunities to help coach for a 2-hour time block in the morning or in the afternoon

March 24:  help referee the 3-on-3 tournament with LX Sports Camps at their Dana Hall Campus

**High School coaches/referees: 9th – 12th grade**
